LBK Engineering & Design Corporation was founded in February of 2019 in Indian Valley, California, by Lindsey Buis-Kelley, PE. Prior to creating this corporation, Lindsey provided the same service as a sole proprietor for 6 years working under a Licensed Structural Engineer.  Before that she worked with other firms in the residential design and engineering field since 2004, part time while at school.

Lindsey grew up in the building design world helping her dad who was a building designer and code expert.  After deciding to return to Plumas County to live, she returned to school at UNR to obtain her Civil Engineering degree with the intent to work in the residential building sector.  Over the course of the last decade and a half Lindsey has worked on all size residential projects, from entry porch additions to multi-million dollar estates, as well as some commercial.  In the last 7 years she has been the principle on numerous design and engineer projects as well as engineering on prior designed projects.  She is adept at wood construction of all types, including seismic and wind loading, while also being familiar with some steel solutions when needed.  She provides plans ranging from complete plans sets to structural only plan sets to engineering for drawn plans.  She works with numerous local builders and also provides California Energy Calculations for other engineers / designers work.  While the majority of her work is in Plumas County, she has done some work in other jurisdictions including Napa and Butte County.  

LBK Engineering & Design’s mission is to provide great service at an affordable cost.  While not always possible, Lindsey tries to coordinate early on with the builder to provide a more cost effective design for the client and address construction changes early on during the design phase.  Lindsey really enjoys helping clients design a home that is tailored to their specific needs while keeping an eye on resale value and cost efficient design.  Lindsey has worked extensively with the local Building Department and provides plan submittal sets that are able to get through the building permitting process in a timely manner.  In short, Lindsey knows that the best kind of advertising in a small community is good service. 

When not at work, Lindsey enjoys living the life available in the California High Sierra, including: spending time with her family; farming, camping, hiking, and being an active community member.
